The FiDJit DJ was created to mimic a record scratch sound, commonly created by DJs manipulating vinyl records on turntables.  

But it is not just a toy.  It can be used to manipulate sounds with other musical instruments including vocoders, synthesizers, effect generators, and trigger sounds from external devices.

It is addictive to play with especially rhythmically scratching your fingernail across the surface.  Makes you feel like you're a DJ and it's fun.
